That's my little Hobbit

Here you can see how cute my little Hobbit was when he was a little younger - smaller...I mean he is still cute. These pictures were taken about 25 years ago. Just have a look!

Hobbit & Michael

My Hobbit is the one who is dressed up like a knight...and his oldest brother. Hobbit's brother stands on the floor and Hobbit the knight on the chair.

Hobbit und Auto

You can see that Hobbit was interested in Soccer very early and that he has collected his first trophy. Well done

That's my mum

My mum and me

When I look back, what people like my mum wore 20 years ago, I'm happy to live today. Today, I'm nearly at the age of my mum at this picture and I'm so glad that fashion has changed, especially after the Berlin wall tumbled...

One of my Birthdays

When I had birthday, I always invited some of my best friends, Nancy, Erdmute and Cindy. When I got older I was also allowed to invite some boys, how exciting...

I remember at 3 p.m. everyone was coming, my friends, grand parents, cousins, uncles and aunties. They brought some gifts, of course for me!!! My parents gave me the presents in the morning and friends and family in the afternoon.

I think at the age of 5 I was not happy with the gift my mum and dad gave to me and I made it clear, so I think since then, they are a little nervous when it comes to giving presents to me. It is not that my parents spoiled me/us (we grow up in the GDR), but I always said someting if I don't like something or anything...You know, children are so bad sometimes, so do I.

However, with my brother, friends and cousins I had a good time. We were having cake and limonade at first, then playing a lot of games, later having some snacks and finally having dinner.

After dinner it was time to walk my friends home but none of them wanted to be first at home, we argued for a wile and then made a decision. not everyone was happy but that's life.

Normally, Nancy was the last I walked home because she was living just around the corner near my place, so I only had to go allone for a few minutes, thank god. By the time I came home it was dark outside, so I was a little nervous. At the end of the day I was happy and went to bed another year older.

My Favorite Chocolate

That was, is and will be my favorite chocolate for all time. Unfortunately, I can't buy it here in Perth's supermarket or maybe I can but I don't know where I have to go.

Kinder Schokolade

When I was little my mum bought it for me and my brother. From time to time my mum send a parcel full of bars of "Kinder Schokolade" to make sure she looks after me, even we live thousend and thouthends kilometre appart from each other.

Thank you mum

My First School Day

Before I had my very first school day my mum did everything so that I had a good start at school. We bought a dress for me and my mum filled my very large cone with sweets for me. The last thing we had to do was to cut my hair nicely.

Seldom we went to the hairdresser, because my mum thought she could to the same job as well as a hairdresser. My hair was long and my mum said she could cut a little bit off so that it looks refreshing and so she went on.

It was a nice summer day, I sat behind our house on a stool and my mum started to cut my hair. Just before she started I told her that I want to make a pony-tail when I have my first school day and it shouldn't be too short. I didn't trust her but she answered, "Of course, I know what I'm doing", and went on.

When she had finished, she put a mirror in front of my face so that I could have a look. I was shocked when I saw what she has done to me and my hair. It was short, really short and I start crying. I was so angry with her, that I don't want to go to school like this. You see, I was right not to trust her. That was the last time she cut my hair. Since then I have gone to the hairdresser.

Next day, I woke up to go to school. Normally it is an exciting day for all new school kids, but not for me. I didn't like my haircut and also this morning I didn't like my dress anymore, what a terrible day. My mum told me I had to wear the dress if I like or not, we bought it especially for this day and there won't be any discussion about it. So I dressed myself and we went to school and the ceremony.

At the ceremony I could see that 2 girls wore the same dress like me, how bad was it?
However, the ceremony started and all pupils were called to their new class and teacher. The ceremony was held at a different place than the school was.

Einschulung

When we arrived at school, we went to our new class room. In the class room on each table was a cone filled with sweets and I was looking for mine and found it. My cone was very large, blue and yellow and on top was a very nice doll placed.

After we were introduced to the rules of the school we went to the photo shooting with our new class mates and teachers and after that they took photos with our parents. When we had finished everything we could go home. I opened the cone and had a look at all the sweets and forgotten was the pain about my haircut, it would grow again.

At the end of the day I thought, it wasn't so bad and I had some fun with my new class mates and family.
